  surface freshwater. Yet, the state of freshwater data has been diffic
 ult for policymakers to access. In a country as vast as Canada, the data ch
 allenges are complex and vary by region involving multiple jurisdictio
 ns. \n\n
 The Government of Canada has committed $43.5M over five years, startin
 g in 2022-23, to create a new Canada Water Agency.\n
 The Canada Water Agency has a unique opportunity for Canada to work with pr
 ovinces, territories, Indigenous Peoples, local authorities, scientists, an
 d others to strengthen collaboration and find the best ways to keep our wat
 er safe, clean, and well-managed.\n\nThis presentation will describe our pr
 oposed roadmap to build consensus on a Canadian data strategy for freshwate
 r data management including our partners in the federal, provincial, territ
 orial, and municipal governments, Indigenous communities, academia, and ind
 ustry.  \n
